Outdoor fire pits

Outdoor Fire Pits for Cozy Backyard Evenings

A fire pit gives the backyard a natural gathering point and extends outdoor evenings well into the cooler months. We build gas fire pits and fire features designed for safety, comfort and good looks.

Overview

Gather around the fire.

Fire pits can be round, square or linear; built from stone, concrete or stucco; and set into a paver patio or surrounded by built-in seating. Gas fire pits offer instant, clean flames at the turn of a valve. Wood-burning pits may be subject to local restrictions and fire-safety rules, especially in wildland areas.

Fire features pair beautifully with landscape lighting and entertainment areas.

Planning & installation

Safety and local rules.

Clearances. Fire pits need clearance from structures, overhangs, trees and property lines according to manufacturer instructions and local rules.

Fire hazard areas. Many foothill neighborhoods are in very high fire hazard severity zones, where open flames and wood burning may be restricted. Gas is often the more appropriate choice.

Gas connections. Gas lines must be installed by a licensed professional, typically with a permit.

Cost factors. Size, fuel type, materials, seating, gas line length and hardscape work.
