A level, stable base. Most gazebo problems start with the foundation. We prepare a base suited to the gazebo’s size and weight and anchor it properly against wind.
Location. Consider views from the house, sun angles, drainage, tree roots and overhead branches, as well as distance from property lines and other structures.
Kit quality. Not all kits are equal. If you’ve purchased one, share the brand and model; we’ll review the instructions and let you know what installation involves.
Cost factors. Gazebo size and type, foundation work, site access, assembly complexity and add-ons like lighting or screens.
Permits. Whether a permit is required depends on your city and the specifics of the structure — its size and height, whether it attaches to the house, its distance from property lines, its roof type and any electrical work. Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena each have their own building departments, while addresses in neighborhoods like Studio City, Sherman Oaks or North Hollywood fall under the City of Los Angeles (LADBS). We’ll help you understand what typically applies before you commit, and the local building department always has the final word.
